Channel/Chatrooms and Community recommendations
Criteria for inclusion of a chatrooms/channel or community
To add a chatroom or community to this list it must:
- Have a Code of Conduct that is strong enough to offer robust protections to marginalized people and minorities. For a template that you can use see the Cooperative Development Guidelines Code of Conduct, it also provides resources for other Code of Conducts there.
- Have multiple owners and moderators in the chat(s).
- Have a healthy community that aims for inclusion, equity, diversity and enforces the above Code of Conduct.
- Have an easy, documented way to join. By either being public and joined by anyone or have a clear way to get an invite.
- Make it clear where the room is bridged before a person joins the room (write in the Subject, Description, Listing, etc.) and what drawbacks that includes (cultural, different way to message, etc.). The XMPP room should be the main venue of the community and the bridged rooms in other networks, the secondary ones.
If your room or community fulfills this criteria send a message to the JoinJabber Collective room with the address of the room and a answer to each above criteria (links, yes/no, statement of values, etc.).
